I’ve got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine.

It’s so hot in Texas that my workouts have pretty much been taking place in the gym.  I refuse to wake up at 5AM, and running at 9PM is dangerous, dark, and my energy is shot.  Plus, most people get a better workout in the afternoon times around 2 PM (I learned that in a biology seminar, weeee!!!).  The gym has become my savior, but it can be UBER boring.  I strive on a daily weekly basis to spice up my routines – from new moves to new shoes – but those are expensive!  Here are a few ways that I’ve been experimenting with that won’t cost you much.  All you really need is a dollar and an iPod!

iPod Tricks & Tips

—>You know that pause that just goes on…and…on…and…on at the end of your songs while you are working out?  Yeah, I hate it too!!!  Here’s my tip on feeling like you are at a party and the DJ never stops the music!  Getting rid of that pause also helps your workouts fly by.

Need Some Jelly In My Belly

I adore these little beans.  They give me the energy to run a million miles, not to mention they replenish the electrolytes that are lost from running.  This is very important for your heart and muscular chemistry (you can also replenish electrolytes by eating crackers and a banana after your workout also!).

Try Something New!

Is there a new trail or lake you are looking to run around?  Perhaps you can eat lunch before the lunch hour and go workout during your lunch?  Or there is a new book, movie, or food that you want to try.  We don’t see transformation by doing the same old things.

I recently tried this pull-up machine in our gym.  It is literally 10 feet tall.  Eeeeeeeeee, HEIGHTS!

Look at me go, though!

Speaking of change….

XOXO
