There is a spirituality to running. I pray during the run. I pray after the run. I pray before the run. For the purpose of the run. For people who can’t run. For people who are hurting – from their training, from hunger, from disease, from loneliness.
The thing about being a runner, is that whatever your religious philosophy is, runners can’t help but respect each other when we run together.
Happy Sunday, Long Run Day!

You know Brittny, I have been reading your blog for quite some time now and you are really an inspiration.
I had a serious knee injury a couple of years ago which had me unable to even walk for months so I was up to now scared to even jog properly.
Last week I started again. I let my body heal after the first run and in a couple of hours I will have my second one. It’s been such a long time I feared I would have forgotten which foot goes first!
I take baby steps trying to overcome my fear of getting hurt again and focus on the big picture of being healthy!
So I will pray that you stick around because you help and inspire others in a selfless way that is hard to find nowadays.

Dina,
This was such a sweet heartfelt message! I am so happy to read that you are getting better. It also makes me so happy to know you are inspired to overcome your fears – that’s not an easy thing to do. You inspire me as well! Keep taking those baby steps and I will stick around. I love blogging and I love the community we have here!
Maybe one day a 5K or half marathon for you?
God bless! -Brittny

I love this prayer. My running group prays together before races. Sometimes we get looks but it doesn’t matter to us. I ran a marathon in October. From mile 18 on, I decided to lean on God instead of myself. I called out several times asking the Lord to give me the strength to finish. I was amazed…looking back, miles 18-25 were amazing! I never felt better. So thank you for this prayer and this blog.
God Bless you

God bless you too!

[...] My “Running” Board :: Nothing spectacular, just certain things I found motivating. I typically don’t draw much motivation from these kinds of things, but some did speak to me. I particularly like the Runner’s Prayer. [...]
