I had to quickly remind myself
that this Sunday is the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001. People around the world will be doing what they can to honor the memory of the fallen and to show their bright spirits above terrorism. I was walking to take my Forensics exam this afternoon, and I saw students at my university doing this:
My way of remembering them is
with a long run of 17 miles. When the hardest part comes, I’m going to be thinking about everything that rescuers, survivors, and the fallen went through. I still haven’t bought my new running shoes, so I’m going to pray that my old shoes last me just 17 more miles. Until then, I’m on run arrest… absolutely no running! Not even to the bathroom.
If you aren’t willing to put up with a little pain, you won’t go far. With every journey you’ll get scratches and bruises, but if you really love it, those scratches will be worth it and you wouldn’t really notice them because you take the pain with the joy.
