The Houston Livestock Rodeo

is a favorite past time.  I remember the first time I ever went was to see a Brian McKnight concert.  Remember when his song “Back At One” was the biggest hit?  Kenny Chesney, Destiny’s Child, Taylor Swift are a few others I have seen at the Houston Rodeo.

On Sunday March 4th, my older sister and I took Audra to see Big Time Rush.

I wore my outfit to match Audra’s outfit. Cause that’s what sisters do.

Big Time Rush is a cute little boy band who have their own show, cleverly called Big Time Rush, on Nickelodeon.  It seems that now-a-days you have to have a popular TV show before you can have a successful music career.

Anyways, these Big Time Rush guys SOLD OUT Reliant Stadium, which seats more than 70,000 people.  Wow, just wow!

I was a little disappointed with the availability of vegan options at the Rodeo.

But those who dance in the rain are the happiest.

I'm dancing.

Our tickets said the Rodeo started at 3:45 PM.  And the concert started around 6:10 PM.  The opening act was China Anne McLaine and two of her sisters. I had no clue who she was, but all of the screaming girls around us loved them and knew all of the words.

She screamed THE ENTIRE concert. I still can’t hear properly.

After the rodeo, we went to Kroger so I could buy some kale. It’s normal.

So, I had fun because I was with my sisters.  And I secretly LOVE the Big Time Rush songs.  You’ve probably seen their songs on some of my workout playlists.  But, as a vegan, it was really hard to watch the treatment of the animals.

I never noticed how the horses are whipped so that they could run faster until now.  And how the ropes are tied around the cows’ necks to pull them in a direction they don’t want to be pulled.  I was almost in tears!!!  Yet, the tens of thousands of people were hollering and cheering this on?  Wow. Just wow. Where is the humanity in this?
