The other day someone made a comment about my appearance and muscle tone. I don’t remember her exact words, but it was something to the effect of “I would never want to have muscle like you. You have too much muscle.”
It really saddens me that women have such a negative perspective on muscle. I understand that I’m a raging feminist and I am all for girl power, and not all women feel like that. But girl power aside, having a strong muscular system is HEALTHY. As you get older, you run the risk of less injuries, less falls, and less broken bones. Your metabolism will stay elevated, and you can afford to eat a few more calories in the day. You can carry all of your grocery bags in the door at once, instead of making 3 trips back and forth to the car. And not to mention what it will do for your physical fitness level and your self esteem.
There is a new wave of physically fit women taking over the world! And the more I have exposed myself to this world, the more I am so proud of my strong body.

I had a someone tell one of my clients the same thing recently. How absurd!
All women should have some muscle because you should want to be able to do things with those muscles! Why some women think they should be lifeless, shapeless hangars for their clothes I’ll never understand.

Youre absolutely right, the new rage is ‘Healthy’ and not just ‘Skinny’. And muscles have serious health benefits.
Keep on training hun!!

Why are women so hard on other women? I don’t get it! I have never felt better (or stronger) in my life than when I was eating healthy & including weights in my workouts. I had no idea I could feel like that! (And am looking forward to getting back into it!) You don’t need me to tell you this, but you look beautifully feminine and strong. Maybe it was just sour grapes! I recommend a session of leafing through “Oxygen” mag asap.
